Many believe that Arabs used curved swords but those were only introduced after the Turkish invasions. Only Arabs that used curved blades were those that lived under direct Axumite rule or suzerainty, but even then it didn’t stuck and as soon as the axumites left the straight sword returned.

/r/SWORDSDacian sica dagger/short sword i made out of an old sickle. Looks rough, and it is, but it's also historically accurate. Burned ash handle, copper fittings, and pine pitch glue. Feat. drinking horn, cudgel, fox and goat hides, and a roe deer antler.
/r/SWORDSAnybody know what kind of sword this may be? It was made in Spain. My grandfather collected antique swords and I inherited this recently.

/r/SWORDSInherited these from my great-aunt, trying to find out what they are. Not sure if they were collected by her husband or if they belonged to her grandfather, a Union Civil War veteran.
